Dégager l'écoute

On the occasion of the exhibition “Claudine Nougaret: Clearing the Sound. Audio in the Cinema of Raymond Depardon”, presented at the BnF in 2020, a film was specially produced by Claudine Nougaret and Raymond Depardon, illustrated with excerpts from their works. The two artists discuss the interplay between image and sound in their films, explain their working methods for capturing the reality of sound, and reflect on thirty years of collaboration.
